In School Involvement

In my Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) of Guitar Ensemble in Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) of 2020 to 2023, I was an Executive-Committee (EXCO) member with the title of Sectional Leader. In this position, I led my section of the ensemble to play with proper pacing in coordination with the rest of the ensemble, while also motivating my section during times of low motivation. Plus, this position comes with teaching certain melodies to new students, of which i have gained life skills like patience and communication. As for performances, I have represented the school during the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation for Instrumental Ensembles (Guitar) in 2021 and 2023. In order to raise funds for the Oh It’s Fairfield 135th carnival, I drew portraits of others to help earn money for our class stalls. Also, for the Oh It’s Fairfield Carnival I had the opportunity to lead my class’s design team in 2023, which had well equipped me with life-long skills. I had the chance to conceptualise my class’s food stall and games stall banners and also paint it with the help of others. I had also designed and drew out the menu of my class’s food stall. Outside of the carnival, i had also designed the class shirt and class page for the school’s magazine. These initiatives were decidedly taken up such that i could experience more creative opportunities while also learning skills that will stick with me for life.

Community Involvement

During my Values-In-Action Programme in Secondary School, I had the chance to contribute to society through helping out various organisations. I was a volunteer at Willing Hearts and FoodBank for packing and sorting of foods. Also, arranged a meeting with elderly from Lion’s Befrienders to play games like Bingo and to chat with them. By taking the initiative to organise these meetups with such organisations I learnt to be initiative and grow in my communicative skills. Additionally, I also designed T-shirts for a youth camp at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
